A rope jam is half a day in which you practise what you have learned, or simply feel what rope is like. People work in small groups, swap tips, and I move around to help wherever things get stuck.
I am starting these because practising between classes is what makes the difference. A knot you have seen once fades. A knot you have tied five times stays in your hands.
Who it is for
Everyone is welcome, even if you have never held a rope. I move around and get you started, so you have something in your hands straight away instead of watching from the side.
- Come on your own or as a pair, both are welcome.
- If you have taken classes with me or elsewhere, this is the place to keep it alive.
- If you are new, I show you the first knots and you practise on from there at your own pace.
- I guide in Dutch and in English.
Two forms
- The short jam. Half a session, 35 euro. Pure practice, with me there to help wherever things get stuck.
- The long jam. A full session with a workshop inside it, 90 euro. You learn something new and practise it straight away.
Which form is on when is listed with the date in the agenda.
How a jam looks
- Arriving. A short circle, brief introductions, and the agreements about consent and safety.
- Practising. You work on whatever you want to practise. I come by, look along and adjust.
- Swapping. Anyone who wants to can change partners, and anyone who prefers to stay with the same person does that.
- Closing. We tidy up together and close briefly.
Nobody performs and nobody is judged on who ties best. The long jam adds a workshop part on top of that, with explanation and technique.
What to bring
If you have your own set of rope, bring it. If you do not have one yet, I lend you a set for the session, just like in the classes.
Ready for your own set? I explain which rope to choose, and why you should avoid JBO in jute.
Intensity: 🌶️ level 1
I work with a chilli system that shows what the intensity may be for your nervous system. That way you know beforehand what you are stepping into and can choose for yourself.
Level 1, The connection. Clothes stay on, and we reach out. A soft touch, eye contact. We explore the space between me and you. Subtle, and felt.
A jam is an evening for practice, so the clothes stay on. If you want to go deeper, Shibari meets Tantra sits at level 2.
Read how the chilli system works and why I work trauma-informed.
Safety and consent
The same agreements as in my classes and workshops. We set out consent explicitly at the start, you always ask before you touch or tie someone, and you can stop at any moment without explaining why.
I keep an eye on nerves and pressure, and I step in when a tie is not sitting safely. Read also how I work with safety and consent.

Frequently asked questions
No. Everyone is welcome, even if you have never held a rope. I show you the first knots and from there you practise at your own pace.
Yes. Many people come alone. You will find someone to practise with, and if that does not work out I practise with you.
If you have a set, bring it. If you do not have one yet, I lend you a set for the session.
The short jam runs half a session and costs 35 euro. You practise, I help. The long jam runs a full session, costs 90 euro and has a workshop inside it, so you learn something new and practise it straight away.
The short jam has no lesson plan: I move around, look along and help wherever things get stuck. The long jam does have a workshop part. If you want to learn to tie step by step, classes L1 to L3 are made for that.
No. People do get to know each other here, and it is about practising with rope.
