A web of jute rope across the skin

Untie yourself

Sometimes you are stuck. In your head, in patterns, in a body you no longer feel. A private session is a space where your body gets to lead.

You function, and something essential is missing. Maybe you carry tension that will not go away. Maybe you are looking for a way to land in yourself again.

Here you have nothing to do, to perform or to understand for a while. The ropes hold you. You get to let go.

Who this is for

Many people come to me because they feel something they cannot put into words. A restlessness that does not pass. The sense of being stuck. They are not looking for rope, they are looking for a way back to themselves.

You do not need to know anything about shibari. You do not need to be flexible or strong. Most people who come to me have never held a rope. What you do need is the willingness to stop thinking for a while and feel what is there.

This session fits you if:

  • you carry tension, stress or old patterns in your body and want to make room for that
  • you are curious about surrender and need safety and clear agreements first
  • you are going through a transition and want to feel yourself again
  • you want to explore trust, presence and letting go in a non sexual context
  • you want to discover the therapeutic or meditative side of shibari

Do you recognise that head that will not stop, the endless thinking and analysing? Then read how shibari and tantra can help you to land in your body again.

The first thing you feel is the weight of the rope. Warmer and softer than most people expect.

What happens in a session

In a session I work with rope, touch and attention. The rope binds you in order to set you free. The soft pressure settles your body. Your breath slows. Your thoughts go quiet. What remains is feeling.

The slow, careful way of tying brings you fully into the present. Your body feels carried, your mind comes to rest.

Attention and presence. Shibari asks for full attention. Out of that comes a pure presence in the moment.

Trust and communication. Every session starts with a clear tuning of wishes and limits. That is what lets you feel safe and sink deeper into surrender.

Self acceptance and body awareness. Through the experience you can find a new appreciation for your own body, out of authenticity and a beauty that shines from within.

What you may experience

  • Deep trust. Being carried in a bedding of safety and care.
  • Letting go of control. Making room for freedom and inner quiet.
  • Healing and insight. Letting tension and old beliefs melt in presence.
  • Samadhi. A state of blissful unity, in which you feel completely connected to the moment.

Afterwards there is time to stay lying down. That is as much part of it as the rest.

How a session unfolds

We start with an intake of ten to fifteen minutes about the intention of the session. What form do you want to experience, what limits are there, what can your body do? You choose whether and how much clothing you wear, and you decide whether photos are taken.

After the session you get the time to land. At the end we have a closing conversation. If photos were taken, we look at them together and you decide which ones you want. The rest are deleted.

If you come together with a partner, there is a separate form: shibari for couples.

This is what being carried looks like. Space around you, and nothing in a hurry.

Suspension: the road to release

One of the most transformative parts of meditative shibari is suspension, hanging in the ropes. Suspending the body brings soft pressure onto the fascia, the connective tissue where tension, trauma and memories often settle.

In suspension your body gives itself over to the ropes, which lets deep tension in the fascia come loose. When the ropes are slowly released, the body can respond with a wave of liberation: memories, emotions or old experiences come loose and may gently dissolve.

That process is physical and deeply therapeutic at once. It makes room in body and mind. Many people experience it as weightlessness, freedom and healing.

More about that on meditative shibari.

How intense it is

A private session runs entirely at your pace. On the chili system it can sit anywhere from level 0 to level 3, and you decide where. We agree that beforehand in the intake, including clothing and limits, and during the session you can adjust it at any moment.

Read how the chili system works and why I work trauma informed. How I handle safety is on safety and consent.

What people write about it

An intense journey in the ropes, full of surrender and connection with myself. Michael, strong and caring in what he does, created a safe space in the difficult moments. Today I feel trust, and I feel a good deal closer to myself again. Thank you
Hanna, 2025

Dear Michaël, your big strong body combined with your soft and caring heart made it possible for me to surrender completely during the shibari session. Being in trust and completely out of control at the same time brought me deep rest. And my skin loves the feeling of the ropes stroking across it. Thank you
Kim, 2025

What a beautiful and liberating session I was allowed to experience with Michael. His presence, his care and his safe holding opened me completely and took me deep into surrender. Very grateful for what he set in motion in me!
Filip, 2025

Michael touches, and lets what wants to unfold arise from the depth, flowing upward, from the deepest part of your soul, from your body. All of it with such a soft yet powerful presence and holding. Deeply grateful.
Sarah, 2025

Michael touches you. He touches you with his ropes, his calm, his closeness. The power of his presence breaks open and heals.
Yvette, 2025

The session with Michael, which I booked after a short conversation with him, was a dream come true, and it fulfilled every wish and need attached to that dream. Arriving in the very safe space, the attunement together with Michael, and then moving into the session itself. It flows so smoothly and in such a safe setting that going into surrender happened immediately, after only a small word from Michael. Sorrow and loss, as well as tears of joy and gratitude, were brought up from the deepest cells of my whole being, so that they could stream and flow. I felt deeply held and caught, a very healing journey. From the big bear who also needs to be held, warm greetings and many thanks
Steven, 2026

Frequently asked questions about the private session

No. Most people who come to me have never held a rope. You also do not need to be flexible or strong.

No. A private session is a non sexual context. There is touch, attention and surrender, and we make the agreements about that beforehand and clearly.

You choose that yourself, in the intake. Clothes on is entirely fine, soft and close fitting works best.

Ninety euro for the first hour, then forty euro per half hour, excluding VAT. A session lasts between one and four hours, as agreed.

Only if you want them. You decide beforehand, and afterwards we look at them together and you choose which ones you receive. The rest are deleted.

That happens regularly and it may be there. I guide you through it calmly and we take all the time that is needed. After the session there is room to land and a closing conversation.

Yes, and there is a separate form for that: shibari for couples.
