The rope I use in all my workshops
POSH is a synthetic rope specifically developed for shibari. Of all the synthetic ropes I have tested, POSH comes closest to the feel of natural rope, without the drawbacks.
Why I use POSH for workshops
In my workshops we work with many different partners and changing participants. Hygiene is essential. After every workshop, the ropes simply go into the washing machine at 30°C and come out like new. No natural rope can do that.
POSH also produces virtually no rope burn. Where nylon or polyester builds up friction heat during fast movements, POSH stays comfortable on the skin. This makes it ideal for beginners who are still learning to work with rope.

Care instructions
Wash the ropes at 30°C in a laundry bag. Hang them to dry after washing. Do not use fabric softener, as it damages the structure. After drying, they are ready for use again immediately.
My recommendation
Start with at least 4 ropes of 8 metres. This allows you to perform most floorwork ties. For full body ties, I recommend 6 ropes.
