Premium Jute Shibari rope 5.5 / 6 mm

Koumonawa controls the entire production process, from field to finished rope. This makes this jute exceptionally consistent in quality, texture, and safety.

Most industrial jute ropes contain JBO oil, a petrochemical byproduct that is harmful to the skin. Koumonawa uses 5x more expensive soybean oil.

Treatment: ready to use or rough

If you choose treated rope, I finish each rope by hand:

• 2x spinning and burning to remove loose fibers
• Treated with 50% beeswax and 50% jojoba
• 10 minutes in the oven so the wax penetrates to the core
• Optionally finished with a Thistle knot

The result is a rope that feels pleasant against the skin, splits less, and lasts longer.

What thickness do you choose?

• 5.5mm: for the connoisseur, more feel and precision
• 6mm: a bit more strength, suitable for suspension up to 80kg
• 7mm: our German jute, specifically for heavy suspensions over 80kg
